Founding Dentist
Warren Zahner—Father, Grandfather, Mentor, & Dentist (1951-2023)
Dr. Warren Zahner served the Ellington community with distinction and dignity for over 40 years, and every time he was asked about his profession, he always said he loved dentistry thanks to the long-term relationships he was able to develop with his patients. He deeply appreciated the opportunity to treat smiles of all ages and sizes, often seeing multiple generations of the same family! He loved giving people a positive dental experience, and he worked hard to make it happen consistently by keeping up with the latest technology and advancements in his field. Most of all, he treasured working alongside his two sons, Dr. Shawn and Dr. Jonathan.
Dr. Warren’s Dental Legacy

Dr. Warren graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, and after completing his residency at the Hartford Hospital Dental Clinic, he worked as an associate dentist in Rockville and Stafford. In 1989, he opened our Ellington practice. Always curious and forever committed to learning, he was a dedicated member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Tolland County Dental Society. He also served as an Associate Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Connecticut.
A Lasting Impact

Over the course of his career, Dr. Warren took frequent dental mission trips to Haiti, and he continued to do so after he retired from private practice, volunteering his time at Hospital Lumiere in Bonne Fin. Dr. Warren will be missed by both our patients and our staff, including his sons who strive to continue the tradition of excellence and compassion he established and instilled in them. His gentle touch, kindness, and warmth will be remembered and missed by so many, and his memory lives on through his wife, Bonnie, their four children, and 15 grandchildren.
