However, it soon became clear to him that he needed more hands-on fulfillment and wanted to be in the service of others, so he returned to the University of Connecticut and earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Now, he feels that the switch to dentistry was the best decision he ever made! He is also a member of the Tolland County Dental Society, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Get to Know Jonathan Zahner, DMD
Before Dr. Jonathan Zahner worked alongside his father and brother at Zahner Dental, he pursued another line of work: engineering. After graduating from the University of Connecticut with his master’s in civil engineering, he went on to join a regional engineering firm.
Dr. Jon provides general and surgical dental procedures for patients of all ages as well as clear aligner orthodontic treatment. He loves that dentistry allows him to fulfill his passions of artistic form, mechanical engineering, and building long-lasting relationships with people from all walks of life. Whether the treatment plan is large or small, Dr. Jon works hard to provide exceptional dentistry with your comfort as a priority.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Jon loves spending time, especially outdoors, with his five children. His wife Amy is a busy mother and helps in the family business as Zahner Dental’s bookkeeper. Dr. Jon also enjoys woodworking, hiking, biking, and photographing New England's beauty.
